DART – powering cost effective and rapid access to data, globally
DART allows tapes of virtually any type, created using almost any backup system to be restored without needing the original hardware or software.
Without needing backup software or the backup infrastructure, DART restores data from tape, removing the proprietary wrapper placed around it by the backup software and returns it to its native form.
Once liberated, the data can then be processed and used in any way you want, providing the required data for litigation, regulatory enquiry, migration to the cloud or moving to an alternative platform.
Designed for Restore
Free of the licence constraints DART can run many instances in parallel, meaning large tape projects can be completed in a fraction of the time they would otherwise take.
Backup software is designed to maximise the rate at which data is placed ON a tape to aid corporate IT departments. DART is designed specifically to aid taking data OFF a tape so has a number of features that make this process easier and more efficient. These include the ability to run part sets, tapes out-of-sequence and many instances in parallel. Full automation and library support add to the efficiency of the solution.
Carefully designed to avoid the need to connect to any host system and landing no data to the processing system DART is the ideal solution for on-site restores where security and prevailing data privacy regulations limit the movement of data.
